What You Can Do

You know what your child needs.

We know how to help you get the information you need to help your child.

What You Can Do to Get Involved

Take an active role in shaping your child's educational, mental health, and other services!

How can you do this? You have expert knowledge of your child that you can share during the processes of obtaining, planning, monitoring, and evaluating services.

You can use your knowledge of your child to more confidently and effectively shape services when you have good information and support to help you.

You can get good information and support by connecting with other parents who have gone through similar situations.

How We Can Help You Do It

We are family members of children with education, emotional, and behavioral problems. We have personal experience from being involved with our own child's care.

We can help you get involved by offering

  • Individual Assistance: We can work with you one-on-one to review education and treatment plans, to prepare for meetings, and to brainstorm action steps.

  • Information: We can answer your questions.

  • Resources: We can refer you to local, state, and national resources, including schools and mental health providers.

  • Connections: We can connect you with parents in your area who have had similar experiences and who can offer you information and support.

  • Education: We can offer you educational programs that will support your efforts to help your child.
