Interested in Learning About Current Issues in Child Welfare Public Policy?

The National Conference of State Legislatures is hosting a series of free web conferences on issues in child welfare public policy. This series begins on Wednesday March 1st, 2006, and will continue on the first Wednesday of each month. The schedule of topics is:

  • Wednesday, March 1, 2006: 1-2 pm EST: "Keeping Kids in Foster Care After 18: The Benefits and Costs"

  • Wednesday, April 5, 2006: "Behavior Problems Among Foster Children: Special Education and the Child Welfare System"

  • Wednesday, May 3, 2006: "Home Visitation Programs for New Parents: Lessons Learned from the States"

  • Wednesday, June 7, 2006: "Promoting Stability in Foster Care Placement: Understanding Why Children Move and What Can Be Done to Minimize Disruptions"
